Here’s a clue – it’s never about you
Have you ever been in a conversation with a sales person and felt uncomfortable?
That the salesperson was only interested in the commission?
It wasn’t anything they said, in fact, they were probably quite good – asking lot’s of great questions
Wonderful technique and you were impressed
Maybe they even convinced you that the service made sense?
Yet, you didn’t buy
Something deep in your subconscious told you ‘No’
You see, people buy based on emotion and justify with logic
If you sell for a living, what I’m about to say could make a HUGE difference
As a salesperson
– thinking about the commission
– getting attached to the outcome of the sale
– thinking about ourselves because we are nervous
They all lead to the same situation
They are all as fatal as each other
Yes, that’s right, thinking about ourselves to the point we are nervous is a fatal as thinking about ourselves in terms of the commission or cash in the business
Because we aren’t thinking about the client
